Altar Servers

David Coleman

The Altar Server Ministry consists of a group of individuals who possess a dedicated interest in participating in our worship services on the altar. The primary role of an altar server is to assist the priest during the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. The ministry seeks youth (4th graders or older) and welcomes adults to participate in this liturgical ministry. On the job training sessions occur at the Saturday Mass at 5 p.m. Training is ongoing until an altar server is deemed competent to serve Mass with little assistance. Although meetings are held infrequently, altar servers have a required obligation to notify the ministry coordinators at least every two months to advise of their availability for scheduling purposes.
