Lourdes’ Centennial Property (bordered by Gartrell Street, Boulevard, and Daniel Street, just one block south of Edgewood Avenue), continues to be our gateway to future expansion because it will provide us with the needed parking which will allow us to expand and grow. We are presently working with a developer who, if we can reach final agreement, will offer the answer to our parking needs. We ask your prayers as we continue on this journey.
In the ongoing process of asking God to Order our Steps, it has become very clear that in order to expand, build and accommodate our tremendous growth, we not only need additional parking spaces, we also need more effective use of our present space as well as a new church. A critical step in our expansion is the creation of a master plan. Recently with the help of Catholic Construction Services, Inc. (of the Archdiocese of Atlanta) we began putting out RFPs (Request for Proposals) to architectural firms to do the master planning work.
Before Easter we (expected) to choose a firm that will help us envision what the Lourdes campus could become with the renovation of our existing buildings as well as constructing new space. One of our primary goals is to create more efficient and accessible spaces. Members from our Pastoral and Finance Councils as well as our Expansion Steering Committee are serving on the Master Plan Task Force which will guide us through this process.
