The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is Monday, January 16, 2016. It’s considered a “day on, not a day off” for a good reason. During the holiday weekend and holiday itself, there are plenty of activities scheduled to encourage people to get involved in their community and celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy. Friday, January 13, 2016 – 6:30 p.m.- 6:50 p.m.- Shabbat Service with Congregation Or Hadash – RSVP here. All are welcome to join the Lourdes Choir and Father Jeffery at
Congregation Or Hadash, 7460 Trowbridge Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 for a Shabbat service. (Members from Or Hadash will celebrate with us on Sunday at the 10 a.m. Mass.)
Saturday, January 14, 2016 – 1 p.m. – Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Archdiocesean Mass. Come celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (the corner of MLK Drive, SW and Central Ave, SW). Members of the Knights and Ladies of Peter of Claver please come dressed out for the Mass and arrive at 12 p.m.
Saturday, January 14, 2016 – 6 p.m.-8:45 p.m. – Screening of the documentary “13th” in the Parish Hall. Join us for a free screening and discussion of the documentary the “13th” after the 5 p.m. Mass in the Parish hall. The documentary by director Ava DuVernay focuses on race and the criminal justice system.
