It advocates primacy of conscience, economic and social justice, and respect for creation.  Pax Christi commits itself to peace education and, with the help of its Bishop members, promotes the gospel imperative of peacemaking as a priority in the Catholic church in the United States.  Pax Christi USA is a section Pax Christi International Catholic peace movement with consultative status at the Unites Nations: www.paxchristiusa.org

Pax Christi at Our Lady of Lourdes enjoyed a rich 5 years together as a prayer, study, action group and as collaborators with other parish ministries. Pax Christi USA is in the midst of major transition, including a move to Washington DC from Erie, PA, in order to more effectively serve as peacemakers within both political and ecclesial structures.  Our partnership with JustFaith Ministries and proximity to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops offer marvelous new opportunities nationally.  Locally, there is an effort to consolidate parish groups onto larger, state and diocesan-based structures, modeled on current successful structures in several states.  At this time, some members of Pax Christi Lourdes are meeting with other local groups; others maintain their membership in Pax Christi USA  and join in larger efforts.
