Baptism

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church’s way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God, a new birth into the life of Jesus Christ.

First Communion

Preparation for the Celebration of the Sacraments: (First Reconciliation, First Communion and Teen Confirmation) is a TWO YEAR process. Students must be enrolled in a Catholic Religious Education program at least 1 year prior to enrollment in the program for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.

Confirmation

Requirements for Sacrament of Confirmation for Teens: The Sacrament of Confirmation in the Archdiocese of Atlanta is available for students starting at age 16 (10th grade) who are committed to living out their Catholic faith. Students must have two years of religious education (9th and 10th grade) through a parish or by attending Catholic school.

Marriage

The Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign in the Catholic Church that one gives oneself completely and permanently to one’s spouse. Catholics who marry are expected to celebrate marriage under the auspices of the Catholic Church. Preparation is required.

Reconciliation

The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance) is the church’s celebration of God’s unconditional forgiveness. God forgives sins whenever a person is sorry for their actions. Confession is a part of the community process of bringing the repentant sinner back into the full life of the church community.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation at Our Lady of Lourdes is celebrated every Saturday at 4:30 p.m, as well as by individual appointment with a priest.
