What is God’s desire for my life? How can I pray so as to discern God’s will? Whether you are facing a big life decision, or seeking God’s wisdom in your daily choices, it can be hard to know just how to discern. How should I pray? What should I look for?

God-centered decision making requires attention to our feelings and circumstances, an openness to God, and a listening heart. The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius offer a spiritual tool kit famous for helping people discern God’s will in their life. While nestled along the Chattahoochee River, enjoy beautiful trails as you come and discover a companion in Jesus, spend time with the God who desires to lead you to fullness of life, and start discerning your path together with Him.

About the retreat director:
Fr. Brent Otto, S.J. joined the Jesuits in 2004 after a lengthy sojourn in India and several years as a high school history teacher. New England will always be home, though he leaves a piece of his heart in every place he’s lived—Calcutta, NYC, London, Berkeley and Atlanta. He studied theology at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. After his ordination, Fr. Brent joined the staff at Ignatius House, where he cherished the ministries of individual spiritual direction and giving retreats. Having gone back to school, he is currently a Ph.D student in South Asian History at UC Berkeley. As Fr. Brent finds joy in accompanying people as they take sacred time on retreat, to encounter God in prayer and to discern how God has been moving in their life, he returns to Ignatius House as often as he can.
